I've finally gotten well enough moved in after the big move to start writing about HamRadio again. I'm going to soon start posting some articles on the www.GreenWizards.info site, the first are going to be about just what you need to get on the air with a limited budget. No fancy bought antenns here. I'll explore what options are available for low cost equipment, with examples from my station. I'll show a couple homemade antennas.

If there's anybody out there who is interested in Ham Radio, contact me and we'll work together getting a Green Wizards network going. If you don't yet have a license or equipment, we'll work on that too.

This will be a "work in progress" series as I don't yet have any "Ham Shack" set up yet. I'll be writing about and photographing what I'm working on. Then I'll use it on the air.

Back on-line, as well as on the air (AB3NA)

With TADR going dark last month, I realized that some of the time I no longer spend there should be spent here.  I've had my Extra-class ham license for about six years now, and have a wide variety of experiences to share, if anyone's interested.  I live in mid-Maryland, Prince George's County to be precise, and am active in our Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) group here.  I'll be around to answer questions here, or on the air.  (80m SSB is a good option for this part of the solar cycle, for the mid-Atlantic region.)

I'll be lurking if you do

I'll be lurking if you do keep up the conversation here. I just have no experience that could contribute in any meaningful way.

Not true anymore...

This post was dredged up from 2-1/2 years in the past by something happening on the Green Wizards board. This is not a current project. I've since shut down the GreenWizardsRadio site due to a complete lack of interest. I'm concentrating on working with local people on this subject, but nothing on a larger scale. I believe that local community is the most important thing I can be involved with these days. Things are just going to get worse and it's better to pay attention to those closer to home.
