Here's JMG's mundane astrological chart for the Spring Equinox.

Can we make it a sticky post so we can go back and check it regularly?

Astrology and the August 21 Eclipse

The Ares Ingress appears to be gone, but for you astrology fans, there is a whole lot on the webs about Trump and the coming solar eclipse on August 21.  It seems that Trump was born under a lunar eclipse,, and a number of aspects for August 21 interact with his natal chart. This seems to suggest that we are in for a real Loony Tunes show from Fearless Leader.  In fact the show may have already started--some astrologers feel the effects of an eclipse can begin three months before the actual event and last nine months after.

Click thru to some of the links to other astrologers' predictions.  They are pretty interesting.

BTW, there is no button to let us add new threads to the 12th Circle, Spirituality, Magic, and Green Wizardry. You can add to an existing thread, but can't start a new one.

Midpoint checkup

We're a week from the Summer Solstice, almost half way thru the Ares Ingress 2017.   How are the predictions holding up?

The one flag that stands out:

"The Sun and the Moon both have aspects with planets, and from these much can be understood. The most important of these is the relationship of both luminaries with Saturn, who is square the Sun and in very close conjunction (four minutes of arc) to the Moon. Sun square Saturn in a mundane chart predicts quarrels within the government, conflict between the administration and the civil service, and an endless string of obstacles, hindrances, and delays with which the president and his administration must contend. The Sun is benefited, on the other hand, by a distant but still effective applying conjunction with Venus. Sun conjunct Venus in a mundane chart predicts that the president and his administration will have relatively good relations with foreign countries. This aspect is particularly beneficial for the head of state, and predicts some notable success for him....

"In foreign affairs, though, the next six months promise to be relatively calm; there will be at least one really high-profile summit meeting, from which it’s likely that some important agreement will proceed."

We've had a tense relationship North Korea. We've pulled out of the Paris Accords and made Angela Merkle look really good.  As some wag said recenyly, "When we dreamed of a woman leading the free world, we didn't realize it would be Angela Merkle."Trump is talking about canceling his state visit to Britain because they are being mean to him.  He's insulted NATO. We've issued arrest warrants for twelve members of the Turkish President security guards. He's been playing "The Ugly America" to the hilt.

Otherwise the chart still seems pretty vague.

Foreign Affairs

So North Korea successfully tested a missle that could reach San Francisco or even Chicago.  Russia--responding to harsher sanctions imposed by Congress--is expelling 755 US diplomats and claiming to US owned diplomatic properties.  And Secretary of State Tillerson is considering "take this job and shove it."

Interesting...

Garden Housewife, that's a

Garden Housewife, that's a reasonable description of most modern Astrology. Traditional astrology has somewhat higher standards for predictions though--you give a straight answer to a straight question and if you're wrong, you admit that you're wrong and change what you're doing until you start getting it right.

JMG is too traditional for modern astrologers (he makes specific predictions and doesn't like Dane Rudhyar), but is too modern for traditional astrologers (he uses Uranus and Neptune and likes Alan Leo), but that's the space JMG occupies in most things.

The 2017 Aries Ingress chart is pretty interesting. Mostly a lot of political tension combined with a lot of confusion. No wars, but not a great time for the economy.

Perhaps of more interest are the charts for next year, which some of the commentators posted. The Saturn-Mars conjunction on the cusp of the seventh house in the 2018 Aries ingress chart and the Saturn-Sun opposition in the 2018 Cancer ingress chart are interesting, but I'm just beginning to study mundane astrology, so who knows.

Ordinarily, I wouldn't pay

Ordinarily, I wouldn't pay much attention to an astrological chart.  It's usually a bunch of generic nonsense that's supposedly a prediction.  Ummm, yeah right.

It's much different though when it's coming from someone who has studied historical cycles, as well as modern politics and social movements.  In other words, the astrological chart is being interpreted through Mr. Greer's knowledge.  Or, to put it another way, it's his knowledge of history and trends and what he rationally sees coming being explained using the planets and stars.

Anyway, this is the only astrological reading I've ever taken seriously.  I think there's a good chance it's reasonably accurate.
